Short-term coverage, between one plan and the next

SimpleCare Insurance explains short-term health plans, which can help while you are between jobs or between coverage. First we check whether you qualify for a Marketplace plan, which covers more and may come with help on the premium.

Before you choose short-term

A short-term plan is not Marketplace (ACA) coverage. It does not qualify for the premium tax credit and may exclude pre-existing conditions.

For now we help with short-term plans in Florida only.

Questions

What we are asked most about short-term plans.

Is a short-term plan the same as a Marketplace plan?

No. A short-term plan is not Marketplace (ACA) coverage, does not qualify for the premium tax credit and may exclude pre-existing conditions. That is why we first check with you whether you qualify for a Marketplace plan, which covers the essential health benefits.

Who might a short-term plan make sense for?

Someone who needs coverage for a while, for example between jobs, and does not qualify for a Marketplace plan. Before you decide, we explain what the plan covers, what it leaves out and what it costs, in English or Spanish.
